Breakthrough!!

Today when Kali woke up from her nap, she was playing with her baby and her puppy (it's really a stuffed cow, but she calls it puppy). After a bit, I noticed her in the time-out corner and she looked up at me and said, "Shhh ... baby time-out." I asked her what baby did to get into time-out and she took the baby's bottle and threw it saying, "Baby throw" and then she went to pick it up. A few minutes later it was puppy's turn to go to time-out. I asked again and this time was told, "Puppy hit" and then she made a hitting motion. She gets it!!!! She actually gets it!!!

Oh, Becky...your last 2 posts are just what I needed to see! Today is Dad's first day back to work and she cried for 45 min. straight for no reason this morning and another 30 for naptime (it's still on 1:15 right now!)

I am using you as my blogging mentor and am going to always say the truth on my blog...thanks for keeping it real!!

It's really amazing that her language is growing so quickly. She's a smart cookie. Kids learn a second language so much faster than adults (we had a 4 yo Chinese girl in school last year who went from only a few English words to screaming my name from the top of the playground slide in a few months) but still, she's so quick! THat's also probably confirmation of her correct birthday, too, you know? She's just that much faster with her receptive language and cognition.
She's adorable, too, Becky :)

I think you're doing a great job - and I don't think you're focusing on her "dark" side - just acknowledging the appropriate boundaries! The honesty on these pages is what helps us all through all of the unexpected things, so thanks so much for sharing. SHe looks like a wonderfully happy girl and Carson seems to be a great big brother! I loved hearing all the similarities with our name choices - hopefully one day we can meet and introduce all of the kiddos. Thanks so much for your comment!
